8 × 10.5 cm of genuine leather — carrying a century-old history of resilience and resistance.
The Symbol
The front of the cover features a mighty oak tree with crossed daggers. In this composition, the oak is more than just a tree: it is an emblem of deep roots, resilience, and an unyielding bond with one's native land — a symbol chosen by the insurgents of Kholodny Yar for a reason. The daggers beneath the oak serve as a constant reminder of readiness for defense, at any moment and under any conditions. On the back is the Latin inscription NUNQUAM RETRORSUM ("Never Backwards") — words that precisely convey the main principle of the Kholodny Yar fighters: to stand firm to the end and never retreat.
Origin of the Symbol
The Kholodny Yar Republic emerged in 1918 around the Motronynskyi Monastery in Chyhyrynshchyna, when a local self-defense unit led by the Chuchupaka brothers gradually grew into a rebel regiment. Between 1919 and 1922, the insurgents held an entire forest region, fighting first against Denikin’s forces and later against Bolshevik rule — under a black banner embroidered with silver thread reading "Freedom of Ukraine or Death". This struggle became one of the longest-lasting chapters of armed resistance in Ukrainian history, and its symbolism — the oak, the raven, and the motto — lives on today in the sleeve patches of the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade "Kholodny Yar" of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Material & Craftsmanship
The cover is handcrafted from Crazy Horse leather — thick, durable, and featuring a pronounced vintage texture. Over time, a natural patina develops on the surface, making each piece uniquely one-of-a-kind.
The embossing is executed deeply using a metal stamp and press, without ink: the image is formed directly within the leather structure and will not wear off after years of use.
Colors: Black, Dark Brown, Red, Blue, Green, Burgundy (Bordo), Cognac Brown, Camel / Tan.
Single compartment, compact size 8 × 10.5 cm (3.15 × 4.13 inches) — comfortable for daily carry. Two internal pocket options are available: 5 cm (1.96 in) and 9 cm (3.54 in).
Production time — 1–3 business days. Shipping across Ukraine via Nova Poshta or Ukrposhta; international delivery available. Payment options: Cash on Delivery or IBAN bank transfer with fiscal receipt. Each cover is packed in a gift box — ready for presentation right out of the package.
The "Oak of Kholodny Yar" cover is a symbol of invincibility that you can carry with you every day.
