There are symbols that are instantly recognizable. The wolf’s head on a shield is just such a symbol: concise, bold, and free of unnecessary details. This is the chevron worn by service members of several units within Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces.
Where This Chevron Is Used
The shield-shaped emblem featuring a wolf’s head and the Double-Toothed Spear is worn by several SSO units:
• “East” Separate Special Operations Center
• “West” Separate Special Operations Center
• 47th Separate Special Forces Detachment
• 140th Separate Special Operations Center
For service members of these units, the chevron is more than just a distinguishing mark. It is a symbol of specific service, training, and brotherhood with those who have walked the same path.
Symbolism
The snarling wolf’s head conveys strength and uncompromising resolve in battle—qualities without which service in special forces is impossible. The shield shape adds a protective function to the design: a readiness to cover one’s comrades and stand firm under pressure. Beneath the wolf is the Dvozub, a symbol of belonging to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Material and Craftsmanship
Crazy Horse leather is treated with a high-melting-point wax, giving it a distinctive matte texture with a “worn” effect right out of the box—and it continues to evolve, developing its own patina over years of use.
The design is applied using deep embossing—a die and press form the relief directly into the leather, without any ink. This design won’t wear off with daily use.
Size and Pocket
8 × 10.5 cm when folded, one compartment. Two options for the internal pocket size are available upon order:
• 50 mm — quick access to your ID.
• 90 mm — more secure document storage.
Leather Color
Black · dark brown · blue · green · brown (cognac) · red · burgundy · red (camel) · gray
